Abstract Submission Information

Abstracts of presented work will be published in the IEEE Xplore proceedings. Presenters may also submit papers on work presented at the conference to the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science Journal. Several special topical issues have appeared as a result of work presented at ICOPS.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Authors interested in submitting their work for consideration for in-person oral or poster presentation at ICOPS 2026 should complete the steps below.

  1. The 1-page PDF Abstract that will be published in the final proceedings should be typed single space, with one-inch margins on all four sides in Times New Roman 12pt. Charts, illustrations, and figures must fit within the 1-page paper limit. Download the Abstract Template.
  2. The IEEE Xplore proceedings will only contain accepted papers with a completed IEEE copyright form that were presented at the conference by a registered author.
  3. The additional short 45-word summary and 100-word presenter bio will be used in the online program.
  4. To ensure your abstract is IEEE Xplore compliant, please use IEEE PDF eXpress Instructions.
  5. Abstracts are due 11:59 PM PST on February 4, 2026 extended to February 18, 2026!
  6. ICOPS does not offer a remote presentation option, all talks and posters must be presented in-person.

AUTHOR NOTIFICATIONS

Author acceptance/rejection notices are sent to the corresponding author specified in the electronic submission. All other correspondence for accepted papers will be sent to the presenting author specified in the electronic submission.

IEEE ELECTRONIC COPYRIGHT FORM (eCF)

If your abstract is accepted, you will be required to complete the IEEE Electronic Copyright Form (eCF). This form allows IEEE the right to use, distribute, publish, exhibit, digitize, broadcast, reproduce, and archive, in any format or medium, whether now known or hereafter developed any materials, including written, audio and visual works.

REGISTRATION

All accepted authors are required to register and present their work in person. Visa invitation letters can be requested during the registration process. The letter will be issued automatically once your registration has been paid.

Agreement Not to Pre-Publish Abstracts or Present Abstracts

Submission of an abstract for review and subsequent acceptance is considered by the committee as an agreement that the work will not be placed in the public domain by the author prior to the conference. Accepted abstracts or significant portions of the work may not be placed in the public domain (conference with and without proceedings) prior to the conference. Violation will be grounds for automatic withdrawal of the paper by the conference committee.

Questions regarding the submission process or technical program should be directed to the Program Specialist, Tracy Holle at t.holle@ieee.org.
